This is book three in the Try Again series. In this one we follow Lana who is Tate’s sister, we met him in Whatever You Do, and a new character Jake.
Lana has had a very rough past, losing her parents and than her grandparents plus an abusive ex husband, she finds it better to stay single and live her life. Too bad life had other plans for her…she is left unconscious outside her burning house when Jake stumbles upon the scene and rescues her.
Jake hasn’t had a great past either…having to come home from active duty after his wife dies to take care of their daughter Hallie. He is now a widow, single dad, and trying to figure out how to raise his daughter alone.
Months later Jake is dropping Hallie off for her first day of school and runs into Lana, who just happens to be her teacher for the year…talk about a small world! They end up starting to see each other and are great together, but Jake has this secret that’s eating away at him….
“What’s so funny?” I ask as I slide inside and the girls are giggling again.
“Nothing,” they respond at the same time, giving each other mischievous smiles.
“Yeah, right,” I mumble.
These two fall into a great relationship. I love them together!! Everything is going great..until the unbelievable happens…which starts making her question everything. She doesn’t think she’d survive losing Jake so she pushes him away…
“No. You need to go.”
“I need you to go,” I shout.
“I just do.”
Will Lana be able to move past her fears? Will Jake just give her up or fight to keep her? Will Lana lose the best thing that ever happened to her? Will she realize she can’t survive without Jake and Hallie?
